Hello and Welcome to another question and answer session, where we try to answer the internet’s most crazy, weird, and awful questions and Today’s question is, “How to use Brutus to hack Facebook?”
I think, we are doing these questions and answers sessions a lot nowadays, but it is fun, isn’t it? So, Let’s see what we have to see what the heck, Brutus is.
What is Brutus?
Brutus is a free remote password cracker, which was originally designed to check default and common password in routers. It was released in October 1998, yes it’s quite old. And that’s the problem. Because when I gather some info about Brutus and see the support, it was available for Windows 9x, NT, and 2000. Yes, And today we are using Windows 10. Plus, It doesn’t have Linux support. And the development and maintenance of Brutus is dead in early 2000. So, yeah, It isn’t that much of gold with today’s technologies. But It supports various authentication types like HTTP (Basic Authentication), HTTP (HTML Form/CGI), POP3, FTP, SMB, and Telnet. Yes, there is no SSH. Well, that makes sense by seeing this.
How to use Brutus to hack Facebook
So, The question is Can you Hack Facebook using Brutus, and the answer is NO. let me tell you why It is not about Brutus. It is with any other password cracking or BruteForcing tool out there. Even the good ones, like you, can use Hydra and Medusa, which uses thread-based brute-forcing, while Hashcat and John The Ripper is used in offline password attacks. Yes, There are mainly two types of Password attacks, Online, and Offline password attacks. This one is an online one. The problem is that Facebook is not a local small business in terms of security. And when hacking, BruteForcing is one of the most common things to do. If you try to brute force into some Facebook account, it is not possible because it will lock you out, after some time.
And if you think there are a lot of password crackers for Instagram and Facebook tools in the market. But they rarely work, Yes some of them use proxies like TOR to change the IPs so that they can’t get locked out. But that’s in theory, in reality, it requires some time to change the IP, and what’s the point of Bruteforcing if every 1 minute, It have to wait 5-10 minutes. Simply, It doesn’t work. There was a tool, I think InstaPy or InstaBrute, that people claim to work but it don’t. Yes, you can do brute-forcing on online accounts with weak security and platforms like WordPress. Like Here I have brute force into SSH to gain a shell, CHECK IT OUT.
So, the answer to How to use Brutus to hack Facebook is you can’t using BruteForcing. So try some methods which will work like phishing, keylogger, etc. Don’t try outdated tools like Brutus, it’s just a waste of time. So, on that note, that is for today, This is professor Void, signing off, I will meet you in the next one.
